Review: Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

from google shopping

To make my concealer application easier, I decided that I wanted to apply it with a sponge. This meant that I could cover more areas of my face faster than if I just used my fingers. I, of course, would love to try the beauty blender, but at twenty dollars, I wanted a more affordable option. So, I looked around online to find the best dupe product and the general consensus seems to be this real technique sponge.

Review and Swatch: 2015 Sephora Birthday Gift: NARS lip pencils

I was super excited for the birthday present form Sephora this year. I have never owned anything from NARS until now, but always ogled their lip pencils like Train Bleu. And needless to say, these lip pencils are just as good as they are described. Now, I want to buy some full sized, but we’ll see…
The Sephora 2015 Birthday gift was a little box that included a .06 oz Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella and a .05 oz Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien.

Review: The Body Shop Body Butter in Smoky Poppy

While I love the consistency and results I get from The Body Shop’s body butters, I do not like most of their scents. They tend to be on the fruity side and I hate smelling like fruit, or any food really! That is why I normally buy their honeymania scent which doesn’t smell like honey, but of flowers. This is also why I was super excited to hear about their Smoky Poppy scent!

Review: Wet n’ Wild Wild Shine Base Coat

Recently, at the beginning of 2015, Wet n’ Wild decided to revamp their packaging on their Wild Shine and Silk Finish lines and added a few new products. One of them is a new base coat.
The Wild Shine nail polishes are all 99 cents and so a great deal! I was excited to see they added a base coat because I had recently run out of my Orly nail defense base coat. For the price I decided to check it out.
The only way the base coat can be separated from the top coat is a faint purple hue. It is the same texture and doesn’t make any really difference to the nail. Basically, it serves as a barrier to keep nail polish from staining and helps polish stay on longer. What it doesn’t do is strengthen the nail or prevent the nail from flaking, fill in ridges etc. If you want additional benefits you need to buy a more expensive base coat like “Nail defense” or “nail envy.”
Overall, this polish does its job. It keeps dark and red nail polishes from staining my nails. It doesn’t have any other added benefits, but for 99 cent? Good deal.

Making Strange Life Decisions?

So, you may have noticed that I posted another blog post; I think I am back to a pace of life that will enable me to continue posting on my regular about two posts a week schedule. I also made a strange decision to start a youtube channel. There have been a lot of posts I have wanted to make that just are not meant for a blog format. I wanted to make these possible in video and so I feel like i finally manged to figure all of that out.
That being said, my videos probably will not be the fanciest or the highest quality, I apologize for that. I hope I can figure out lighting, sound, etc. as I go. I'm also hoping to upload about once a week, but they might not be as regular as my blog. I would really appreciate if you checked my channel out at
my first video is at and is my foundation routine!

Review and Swatch: Cover FX Total cover cream foundation

As you may know from my other foundation reviews, I have very blemish prone skin.  There was a brief period about a year ago where my skin was great for like two months and I tried out lighter foundations, but my acne is back again and I am back on anti-biotics. This means I was also on the hunt for a new concealer.
