Review and Swatch: Wet n Wild Summer 2016 Highlighter "Precious Petals" and Liquid Lipstick "Indigo your own way"

It only took me a few weeks and over ten drugstores, but I was finally able to find Wet n Wild's Summer 2016 special limited edition collection with the highlighters that everyone has been wanting! From the collection I bought the lightest highlighter in "Precious Petals" and the purple metallic liquid lipstick in "Indigo your own way." Hopefully these swatches and reviews can help you to decide if you should try to find them or buy them off of the WnW website (where they are listed for sale).

So let's get started with the highlighter in "Precious Petals." This is the lighter of the two highlighter shades. It is a warm light metallic gold. There are no sparkles; just a smooth metallic like finish. The powder is super buttery and velvety feeling. It also doesn't push up to much powder or anything so it isn't messy. It is beautiful on and buildable. On my fair skin it reads as a slight shimmer. This isn't a super powerful highlighter, but it definitely lends a nice effect. I think it would look nicer on darker skin tones than mine since it would provide a nice light contrast in addition to the shimmer. This is though, one of the lighter highlighters around and for that price I would still recommend for fairly pale girls too.

Next up is the liquid lipstick in the purple shade "Indigo your own way." While many times when someone markets a "liquid lipstick" product, they usually mean a very pigmented thick liquid that either sets matte or mostly matte. This is not what these are. These are simply glosses. They do not set down at all and are not opaque. They are though nicely pigmented for a gloss (I would say semi-opaque) and have a nice metallic sheen. The metallic nature isn't as strong on the lips as in the tube though. They have no noticeable scent and the applicator is a weird dipped doe foot that i think is supposed to contour to the lip, but ends up not having enough product so I use the back.

Overall, I'm very happy with the highlighter even though I wish it was a little lighter in tone. The quality and texture of the powder is just that nice. I'm not as happy with the "liquid lipstick" though. It isn't opaque or have a strong enough "metallic" finish for my taste and now I'm trying to think what lipsticks I could layer this purple gloss over (since I don't ear sheer lip color ever.)
